In the coming Novembe, SC Galley is pleased to pesent the second solo exhibition of Tao Hoi Chuen, Jacky, “Ecstasy”, featuing the atist’s latest body of wok and a cuated

selection of pevious pieces. Using ‘sceen’ as his cental visual element, Tao delves into the dual metapho between taditional pingfeng (folding sceen) and moden display monito. Though his mateiality exploation with ink on pape and acylic painting, he econstucts the visual stoytelling of the cityscape. The exhibition will open on 1st Novembe and un till 13th Decembe.

The exhibition also showcases Tao's exploation of mateials. In addition to pape-based woks such as “A Voyage at Sea III” ceated with fine-line dawing techniue, it featues his new acylic paintings. This medium, known fo endeing high-satuated colos, is commonly used in Tao’s mual ceations. The “Late-Night Convenience Stoe” seies pesented in the exhibition ae all acylic on canvas, whee the atist uses the pigment's intensity to enhance visual impact, captuing the vivid inteplay of light and shadow between the midnight cityscape and the illuminated convenience stoe.

The show eflects the atist’s ecent use of television sceen and billboad as image caies, ceating a ‘painting within a painting’ though the division of composition. Tao futher expands on the multi-spatial painting style whee he stats by depicting pingfeng and display sceen: the fome is an ancient decoative funitue fo sepaating space; the latte is an indispensable infomation inteface of moden life, a window to the digital wold.
